Saint Brother Andre Society

Brother Andre is a Canadian lay brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross. He initiated the construction of a basilica the St Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal, Quebec.

Why Saint Brother Andre Society?

On Sept 24, 2021, my wife, Virginia, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her family doctor requested for mammogram since she has not had one for the year. With it, surprisingly she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Oct 12-15, 2021, we, myself and Virginia, went to Montreal, Quebec to visit and pray in the different cathedrals and basilicas, namely; St. Patrick’s Basilica, Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal, and St. Joseph’s Oratory in Mount Royal.

Oct 20, 2022, we reported to the clinic of Dr. McKinnon, oncologist at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta. He explained options available to Virginia. Surprisingly, a cancellation just happened and Virginia is given the option for operation on Oct 22, Wednesday. The family agreed that my wife Virginia takes the slot.

Oct 22, 2021, I brought her to the hospital for a day surgery. The operation was a success. I brought her home in the afternoon. She was high in spirit.

Nov 1, 2021, my wife and I reported to Dr. McKinnon’s clinic. Dr. McKinnon delcared Virginia is cancer free and will not require radiation and chemotherapy. My wife will only take medicines for the next 5 years or so. We were very happy to hear such very good news.

With these miracles, we thought of creating a non-profit organization in St. Brother Andre’s name with the main purpose of doing charity works for others who are in need.
